omg think in 16 years i have fallen off tooooo many times but ome do stick in ur head more than others..........................

my best one must be boxing day 2007!!!

for xmas i got a new hunting jacket so i couldnt wait to wear it the next day to the boxing day meet, we had been out for about 2 hours and two of my friends where out with me. we had just gone through a wooded area and jumped out over a style. Gibby (my horse) likes to be near the front so i pulled over and waited for my friends to jump throu on their horses so we cud gallop up the hill that was ahead together. gibby hates waiting but they wernt far behind so once they had both cleared it i let him go (in other words let him wizz off up the hill with the rest of the field)
as he was goin 0-60mph up the hill i was looking over my shoulder to see my friends gallop up behind me .........................next thing i know is a massive branch has hit me in the ribs, gibby

has ducked under it and i am flying backwards over his backend!! it was like a cartoon sketch! when my friends caught up with me they where just laughing and i had a big green tree mark where i had been splatted by this branch (which was one of those beasty oak branches!!)

also just to top it all off .... i was sat there on my backside while the other horses galloped past left right and center and i see this woman being towed up the hill....her horse decides to take the B line under the same branch and knock her off too, so there was two of us hit the deck!!

its all gud tho cuz we both got bk an and had a great day!!

I am a really experienced rider because the more you fall of the more knowledge you get about riding. I have been falling off endlessy until i was 11.Once when i was 10 a pony called Cui who i was training reared up and rolled over me when i was on her.I broke my wrist.

some people fall off lots and never hurt themselves, and others seem to break something everytime they fall off - think it might be worth learnign how to fall off properly - eg gymnasts are taught how to fall using the maximum body area to spread the impact. Are race jockeys taught how to fall off - did you see the ones who fell off at the Grand National - think they were all all right. But don't think any amount of training would have helped Katie!

i walked away from my fall with a sprained wrist! and was in work 3hrs later! generally try to roll out of a fall and try to twist my body so as to not land on my head or back, works most of the time!!lol it is a bit like catching a ball, ur taught to recieve it and move your hand when it makes contact, if you roll out of the fall it spreads the shock on your body.

I had a old loan pony called Indi 14hh and she was a Hanovarian. We were cantering in the school having a lesson and she tripped on some tarpooling and she sumasulted in the air and i went in the oposite dirrection from her but she was laying on the floor for a while but then jumped up. But my instructor told me that she she went the same way as me that would be the end of me!

But we are both Fine now and we have put it behind us but we are very nevous in that school now.

I havent ever really fallen off badly, but i think the best fall ever was:
(About 2 years ago)I rode my mums old horse Harry, came un seated and came off and was only winded bit sore etc. The next day i wanted my mum to film me doing some jumping on my horse Ollie, so we went out to do some jumping, i came over the last fence and my balnce just went so i clung round his neck, My mum was still filming, saying "aww she giving him a well done cuddle etc" and i just roly polied off the side of him, my mum was like whats all that about and laughed. I had to explain that my balnce had gone, but it was really a youtube moment.
I havent fell off badly ever though and never broke a bone. I fell off on to my bum about 2 months ago when i was doing bareback and bridless with ollie. I thought id try using a lunge whip to direct ollie (dont ask i got told to try it) ollie really hated it and just bolted full pelt across the fenced off field i was in and because hes hogged i had nothing to hold on to and fell on me bum,
funnily enough i havent used a lunge whip since. lol.

oh, I remeber when i was out and riding my first horse. It was the first time i was riding bareback and we was on our way home. Then we started to trott and he just haul away and then my friends horse stops and my horse just run in to her horse and my leg get caught in hers leg. and I falling down on the ground right in a puddle. i was so wet! ^^ And my horse was just looking at me and look like a little angel ; ) haha that was one of my "best falling of my horse"

Well i've fallen off loads of times! :) but hasn't everyone!?

    SAD STORY! :'(

    20th December 2008

I was being payed to ride a 18.2hh Cleveland Bay x Shire, called Bruno, he was 5 when i started riding him in 2006. We did everything together and learnt loads together. We went hunting with another horse, Scotty, he was much older. Bruno was very scared oof dogs but he would keep steaded ad safe whilest they pasted.

The 20th December 2008, we went out on a hack to get him fit for hunting, Bruno was very excited. I knew there was a big ditch with a heavy flow of water in it coming up in the hedge row were i was hacking, there was a dog in the next field ova, i went off the front down the ditch, as he stopped. i was knocked out ad Bruno was so scared of this ditch. He tried to jump it by himself ad landed on me in the ditch i was unconcush ad face down in the water. He was stuck in a lot of pain but he managed to move off of me ad saved my life by doing that. He moved his foot under me so i was out of the water, he saved my life, we were down the ditch for 4 hours, before somone found us, he kept me alive. He was literly a LIFE SAVER! He was witched out, i was got out.
I woke up a week later in hosiptal, Bruno had broken his leg ad had been put down there. I was so upset, untill i was told if he didn't help me like he did i would have been dead also.

He gave his life to save me.

Charlotte on the Isle Of Wight :heartbounce: I have always loved that horse, and always will do!

This happened at every obstercale! there was 20 of them! i came last but i didn't care cause i gave everyone a laugh ad everyone  ad i got a rosette for fallin offf the most times! to this day i hold the record at the Isle Of Wight Pony Club for falling off the most times at one show! :D

    My worst fall...Ever

well i went riding out with some people down the yard. (hacking in fields) it finally came to the last stretch and we had a small canter, i pulled my pony up at the first gate, not realizing that they were continuing to the second gate.they passed me while i had stopped (they were galloping) they then stopped in the middle of the gateway and my pony slammed on her brakes, and i flew (quite literally) over the top of both horses plus their riders (apparently somersaulted)cleared it all and landed approx 10ft away from the gateway, in bunch of brambles. but luckly i came away from the accident with only a broken wrist. the thing is i have only fell of my pony about 3 times in the 8 years i've had her!

never rode out with them since, i'm all better now though and back riding:D
