I recommend using VANISH (OXY-GEL etc) on grass/mud stains! It works wonders on stained tails and mains too! You can buy it in sticks, and that is fantastic for "spot cleaning". I use it on my grey, and it worked wonders on my coloured - it brought his white up gleaming! Its fantastic and works on ANYTHING....just make sure you do a small "patch test" to make sure your horse isnt allergic/sensitive first!
-
oh thanks will help for when getting him clean for the shows!

i have a grey, and use blue shampoo which is ok, then i brought some cheap animal shampoo and its great i have a white pony again.i only use vanish in his tail...

Have your horse wear a summer rug with wick-away.
-
i have to admit my grey is rarely dirty!once in a blue moon, although i suppose her tail could do with a wash cos its a little yellow!
-
That purple shampoo is fab on my (mostly) grey horse- just remember to take it out before your horse goes purple....
