I have recently bought a fjord mare after returning to ride after having children. i have had horses all my life but since i was 15 they have all been big horses,to event,team chase do dressage etc. i re thought everything and decided that i should buy something large enough for me but with a kind honest temperment. to cut a long story short the list of possible breeds was huge but a fjord mare in my area in my price range caught my eye. she is fantastic kind gentle uncomplicated and great with the kids. she does everything i ask of her and more and still i get " why dont you sell her and get something bigger" or "are you not bored riding a pony" well the answer is NO. she is amazing unusual and the kindest horse i have ever met. i get so fed up with peoples comments-it drives me potty. i guess it really is horses for courses
