Re: what bit can i use?
As I understand, you can only use snaffle bits. I wouldn't have thought that in doing walk and trot prelim tests you should be using a double bridle - they are very 'hard' on the horse and can take a lot of time to get used to. A friend of mine usually rides her horse in a pelham, but in dressage it's a snaffle with a flash noseband - and she's fine. What does your instructor suggested - by guided by them Good luck!
what bit can i use?
hi, can anybody help me - have just started taking part in dressage competitions and have had conflicting information with regards to what bits are allowed. i ride my horse in a pelham with two reins, is this acceptable for beginners dressage? or should i put him in an ordinary snaffle although he is extremely strong. or should i use a double bridle? we are only starting out so we are competing in walk and trot and some prelim tests. i am very confused and would appreciate any advice anyone can give me. thanks Jo
