Askar is a really tough Irish bred horse - he is a bit of a thug! Chunky and strong, but amazingly capable and careful too. He came from Cavan Equestrian Centre (Ireland) to show jump. But although he has a really powerful big jump, he doesn't think much of showjumping and would rather be crossing country. He has turned out to be a cracking hunter! Never stopping, and powering on, all day long. Show jumping was too fiddly for him. In four seasons hunting he has taught me how to jump without falling off - a great horse!
Achievements
In his short show jumping career he notched up around £200 - double clears at 1m 10. Jumps anything at home, and huge hedges (without touching) out hunting.
