Joshua is a true gentleman - he would never tread on you in the stable, or knock you with his head - he is very delicate in his movement, a sensitive soul, but also calm and sensible. A perfect lady's horse. He has been with us since July 2003. We bought him from Vere Phillips in Leicestershire. His eventing name was 'MASTERCARD.' We bought him for Florence to showjump and AJ to hunt, and he's always done everything we have asked of him. He's just a lovely fellow to have around - never causes any trouble. He will take anyone round any set of jumps - comfortably at 1m 10. Out hunting he has stamina and go to last all day, the Middleton hedges and mud are very demanding - but he is light on his feet and flies them.
Achievements
Joshua had a successful novice eventing career - as MASTERCARD - with top event rider Stephanie Thompson, in 2001 and 2002. He did four pre-novices, 12 novices, 1 one star - and got 21 points, and then got one point in his first intermediate event. Then he did some a good showjumping with Florence, in 2003 and 2004, culminating in fifth place in the national novice final at Scope in September 2004. After that he found it very liberating to be let loose on the hedges in the Middleton country.
